The African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) was founded in 2005 and has since been held annually in Nigeria. Today, the AMAA is most prestigious and glamours entertainment industry event of its kind in Africa.

Over the years, AMAA has evolved to be much more then just a one-day live televised event. Today, AMAA is an all-year-round engagement platform for filmmakers, industry professionals and their fans.

AMAAs intentions nevertheless remain unchanged: our aim is to facilitate the development and relevance of African film & cinema.
